The situation at Ducati is starting to become very perilous. For the first time since the launch of this new format, no Borgo Panigale machine has finished in the top three of a Sprint. Fabio Di Giannantonio, in Australia, is the savior; he was the best placed of the contingent in fifth position at the finish. Clearly, The Desmosedici GP25 isn't that good, and "Diggia" is starting to make repeated calls to get the Ducati engineers to react.
The other brands are closing in, that's undeniable. In the absence of Marc Marquez, Aprilia is quite dominant, and that's problematic. « We have a great project, but other builders are currently progressing faster than us.Our bike is working well, but the others are bringing a lot of new parts, as you can see. They are performing better than us right now. We need to work on new ideas to be faster. Our opponents are getting stronger and stronger" he declared for speedweek.

Di Giannantonio has even reached a point where he no longer wants to touch the machine's settings. « After Indonesia, I said I didn't want to know anything about motorbikes anymore.I haven't even looked at its settings. Normally, I know them all down to the smallest detail. But that's not the case anymore. I just look at the computer's information and don't want to know anything anymore. I want to concentrate fully on driving ; the rest no longer interests me" he continued. There was a hint of annoyance in his words, and that was understandable.

In the end, his race wasn't so bad: in contact with Jack Miller and Pedro Acosta, he was in contention for the podium until the final moments. « We had a chance to get on the podium today. But starting from 10th on the grid wasn't easy. We made a great comeback. My race pace was excellent when I had some free air in front of me. I'm really disappointed with my starting positionI had to take a lot of risks to maintain my race pace. he concluded.
