Marco Bezzecchi

Barely dismounted from his Aprilia Racing factory team Aprilia after winning the sprint race of the Australian Grand Prix MotoGP 2025 in Phillip Island, Marco Bezzecchi spoke in front of the cameras of the official website MotoGP.com with the joy of having won despite an incident with a seagull on the warm-up lap and a mistake in the race which could have ended badly.

🎤 Marco, you don't like to do things easily. Another sprint race where you had to fight, this time with nature. What was going through your head and how difficult was it to refocus for this sprint race?

Marco Bezzecchi: “Yes, it was really hard. At the beginning I hit a big bird [a seagull, editor’s note], unfortunately for him especially, but also for me because it scared me. But luckily nothing was broken on the bike. I’m sorry for that, of course. Then, when we started the sprint race, I had a lot of fun. Raúl was impressive at the beginning, super fast, and I couldn’t catch him. Once I caught him, I immediately made a mistake so I had to face some difficult laps again, but fantastic job. I’m very happy to have won today, it’s for my team, for my guys and all the fans.”
