fabio quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), currently 2 points ahead Francis Bagnaia (Lenovo Ducati Team) in the MotoGP World Championship standings, will he emerge in the same position at the end of the Australian Grand Prix on the circuit of Phillip Island?

For the moment, the first two free practice sessions hardly allow us to get an idea, the Frenchman dominating the Italian in FP2 after bowing FP1 outside the top 10. Different strategy or other, rather than assuming it would be better to see what we see and, for the moment, what we see with pleasure is the domination of Johann zarco during the first day, the enthusiasm once again confirmed by the rookie Marco Bezzecchi, as well as the good performance of the Hondas and Aprilias, for once in front of the bulk of the Ducati troops.

This results in the provisional prequalification of Johann zarco, Marco Bezzecchi, Espargaro Pol, fabio quartararo, Maverick Vinales, Marc Márquez, Aleix Espargaró, Francis Bagnaia, Enea Bastianini et George Martin.

While waiting to discover more about the route without major braking and whose records date back almost 10 years, let's take advantage of these few live moments thanks to the official website MotoGP.com as the 24 drivers prepare for this third 45-minute free practice session on a dry track, with temperatures of 13° in the air and 20° on the ground under a clear sky and still windy:

When the red lights go out...once is not customary, it's Marc Márquez who rushes first while fabio quartararo sticks to his strategy of leaving last.

In terms of tires, medium and soft are out.

Johann zarco proved to be the fastest at the end of the first flying lap, in 1'30.736.

On the next pass, the French driver improved to 1'29.719 ahead Jack Miller et Alex Espargaro.

With a soft rear tire, Miguel Oliveira then creates a surprise by placing himself at the top of the table, in 1'29.658 at the end of the fourth flying lap, the first driver to improve his time from the day before among the top 10.

The first run does not bring any further improvements and the drivers return to their box.

fabio quartararo is then 19th in the session, more than a second behind Miguel Oliveira, but he reassured his fans by jumping to 2nd position in the session at the restart, while he was still using a worn soft rear tire.

In the next passage, The Devil registered 1'29.620, 6/1000 from his time the day before: perhaps the Frenchman will try to complete the 27 laps of the race on soft tires...

As the last quarter of an hour approaches, the first three drivers, Fabio Quartararo, Miguel Oliveira and Johann Zarco, are grouped in less than a tenth of a second.

15 minutes from the checkered flag, Miguel Oliveira regains the advantage in 1'29.534 then 1'29.510.

alex rins then jumps to second position, but it's his teammate Joan mir who achieved the best time of the session in 1'29.353. A very provisional domination track in the wake George Martin registered 1'28.616, best time of the weekend so far!

Marco Bezzecchi then regains his second place from the day before, benefiting from the focus of Marc Marquez, third.

Nine minutes from the checkered flag, Fabio Quartararo is almost the only driver not to have improved his time from the day before.

Alex Marquez comes to stand in front of his brother, then Jack Miller took third position five minutes from the end of the session, when the drivers returned to their box again to change to new tires.

Everyone leaves for one or two laps. Marc Marquez first goes second at 36/1000 of Jorge Martinthen Luca marini achieves provisional pole position in 1'28.592.

Marc Márquez then take advantage of the wheelAlex Espargaro and registered 1'28.462 at the top of the table.

Johann zarco will have to go through Q1.
