The MotoGP World Championship stops in the Austrian region of Styria for the eleventh round of the season, at the Red Bull Ring. This emblematic circuit is also that of the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team, for which Pedro Acosta had high hopes. However, the weekend did not start in the best way for the young driver, who had to deal with two crashes during the first day of free practice.
Peter Acosta analyzed his first laps on the Austrian track on motosan : " it was not an easy day with all the time wasted and the problems we encountered. But hey, I did my best in these conditions. » The first fall occurred after finding himself behind Pol Espargaro : " my tire got cold and I fell. Then I saw the remaining 3 minutes on the screen and I was like, 'Okay, I'm going back out, I'm doing two laps, I'm leaving the gate and I'm going back to the box.' Even if the bike wasn't ready, I wanted to at least try. But the tire was so cold that as soon as I braked, it locked and I fell. Fortunately, I didn't even scratch myself »
Despite these setbacks, Peter Acosta remains optimistic: as far as possible, we were lucky Today. We also tried the hard tire at the front, but like many other riders, it didn't work. Maybe the temperature was a little too low »

Pedro Acosta: “ we looked at the difference with Binder. These were two stupid little mistakes that cost me time »
As for its comparative analysis with Brad Binder, Acosta was frank: “ we looked at the difference with Binder. These were two stupid little mistakes that cost me time. In the morning, we had a problem in the box which delayed us, but tomorrow, we will know what to do »
Acosta also discussed tire choice, a crucial factor on this circuit: “ we know that the soft tire is not an option for racing, so the choice is limited to medium and hard. However, everyone who tried the hard way had problems. The medium seems to be more stable, even if it does not offer the same braking performance »
Despite a season already marked by several falls, Peter Acosta keeps a positive outlook: “ I'd rather learn from these mistakes now than next year, when I'll need all my experience to succeed. I want all this 'mess' to happen this year, not next »
Peter Acosta ended the day in eleventh position and will have to go through Q1, but his resolutely positive attitude and his ability to learn from his mistakes show that he is ready to take on the challenges that await him this weekend.
