MotoGP Austria 2 Championship: Quartararo emerges from Austrian hell again and still in the lead

Fabio Quartararo remains the leader, albeit with difficulty...

Given the course of events and the worrying level of the Yamahas, the results are miraculous. The Austrian campaign was more than painful for Fabio Quartararo who was coming off two victories at Jerez. But which also came from a Grand Prix in Brno which had given the first signs of concern. On the Red Bull Ring, the Yamaha did not show itself in its best light, far from it, with a closely monitored engine and brakes exercising their right of withdrawal as they saw fit. Once again, Viñales had luck with him. Twice in two weekends is a lot... But when it's time to pack your bags for Misano, it's still Fabio Quartararo who's leading the way...

fabio quartararo suffered, but he held on until the arrival of this Grand Prix of Styria. His modest thirteenth place and his meager points still allow him to keep the lead in the general classification. He counts 70 points, three more thanAndrea Dovizioso who missed an opportunity this Sunday. An opportunity that the other Ducati rider, Pramac version, Jack Miller seized. Certainly only second in this fifth MotoGP round, he moved into third, 14 lengths behind the Frenchman.

Zarco finished ahead of Morbidelli

Brad Binder is fourth with 49 points and ahead of one Casa Particular in Viñales by one point. The Spaniard arrived at the Red Bull Ring 11 points behind Quarterly, then 19 before this weekend, and here it is now at 22 units. However, it is intact, despite the debris from the Ducati of zarco which passed right over his head last Sunday and the obligation to urgently evacuate his Yamaha without brakes at more than 200 km/h this Sunday...

Nakagami is the first driver outside the top 5 with 46 points and he precedes Valentino Rossi of a unit. Mir, 44 points, the sparkling winner Tech3 Olivier, 43 follow on suction. The top 10 is closed by Johann zarco who has 30 points and who scored two this Sunday starting from the pit lane. 14th in the Styrian Grand Prix, he is ahead Franco Morbidelli 15rd. There are small pleasures that we cannot deny ourselves...
