Pol Espargaró was angry last week at the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix, and here he is this time with a smile, for the Styrian Grand Prix. The location has not changed, however, but the KTM is in even better shape, after the experience gained from the last game. However, the one that Miguel Oliveira portrayed in a particular way is an eternal dissatisfied person. Because he wonders how he can get there and wonders where he would be with Marc Marquez on the track. One last question that will haunt him more surely in 2021…

Next year, in fact, he will be the teammate of Marc Marquez on a Honda. A choice that Jorge Lorenzo predicted to him as dark... But everything in its time and Pol Espargaro must take advantage of this good Friday spent with his KTM who definitely likes to breathe the air of the country: “ Yes, it was a good day. This second Friday was even better than last weekend » assures the teammate Brad Binder who will forever remain as the one who won the first MotoGP Grand Prix for KTM.

« I had the best time of the afternoon, which was even more difficult as the surface rose to 50 degrees. However, I was only a few thousandths of a second off my best time at Spielberg. Most of the drivers from the other classes achieved the best times in FP1. This all looks very good. My pace with the racing tires is also impressive. All good. I would like to be in warm-up now and get ready for the race straight away ».

Pol Espargaró regrets the absence of the Marc Marquez reference

« To be honest, I didn't feel like we changed much, so our strength now is a bit surprising », admits the 29-year-old pilot. “ I still don't understand why we are so fast. I don't want to be negative now, on the contrary. I always want to be positive. However, it must be said: the best man on the field is not there because Marc is absent. I would like to compare myself to him. I would like to know how fast he could go here ».

« Taka Nakagami was quite fast today, and Marc normally rides much faster than him. We are very good, it's true. But my question is: are we really as good as it seems? This remains a question that no one can answer at the moment. I'm also looking forward to the next tours. Because I want to see how competitive we will be in other arenas. In any case, in Brno we were not as superior as here. That's why I want to stay calm and down to earth " finished Pol Espargaro.
