This Sunday August 15, 2021, Miguel Oliveira answered questions from journalists from the Red Bull Ring circuit, at the end of the Austrian Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Portuguese driver, who was once again forced to retire from the race.

As usual, we report here the words of Miguel Oliveira without the slightest formatting.

Miguel, can you come back to your race and your retirement?

« I We failed to finish the race, although that was our primary objective. We had difficulty with both the front and rear tires, as the latter had a tendency to overheat. Then the front became too sensitive, and it became difficult for me to avoid falling. But regardless, we must move forward, and we must learn the lessons of these two weeks of racing in Austria. »

« Je Still remember the positive: I was very fast, and that shows the potential that we must exploit. We now have to head to a round that we haven't been to for some time [at Silverstone]. We will try to make it a benchmark weekend, and have fun. »

Do you think you can resolve the tire problems that have affected you over the last two weeks?

« Ce weekend again, we observed differences in grip between the different compounds made available to us. It's strange because we can't figure out where it comes from. I must say that I really had the feeling during the race that I didn't have the best tires. But it's a very vague subject and it's difficult for drivers to talk about it because it's essentially based on feeling and ultimately little on data, and it's also very difficult for Michelin to understand the situation. It's no one's fault, but the problem is still there. So let's hope that on another circuit this problem will be less felt, and that we will simply be able to work normally. »

“Notre problème de pneus, c’est de la faute à personne”

In terms of your hand, do you think you can return to your maximum potential by Silverstone?

« This unfortunatly doesn't represent enough time, but what is certain is that I will be in better shape at Silverstone than I was here. The hand wasn't a real problem this weekend, but I can't say that I rode as comfortably as in the past. This is a factor that over a race distance can affect me a little more. »

« More This is not the time to whine: The situation is what it is, and we must move forward. We got a good result today thanks to Brad Binder, he was very brave staying on slicks in the wet. I was in the mix and I probably had the same potential as him, and I could probably have finished very close to the podium, and that's something we have to be satisfied with. »
