Rarely have we seen such an indecisive MotoGP season. Perhaps in 2016, as indicated by Michelin which draws a parallel with this era because a new tire had arrived, like this year. A parameter highlighted which also means that with or without Marc Marquez, the race towards the title would be just as undecided. However, the Honda official is not there and his year is in jeopardy due to a humerus injury that has worsened. For Danilo Petrucci, it's a shame, but that doesn't explain everything.

The first race of the season Jerez as the second was won by fabio quartararo. Between the two, Marc Marquez had disappeared following a fall which made his ascent a disaster. Then Brno was the prerogative of the KTM of Brad Binder, the rookie while Dovizioso was raising the bar in Austria after announcing that 2020 would be his last year at Ducati. Miguel Oliveira then doubled the lead for KTM at the Styrian Grand Prix.

In five Grands Prix, we have therefore had four different winners and three brands happy to make it happen. Fabio Quartararo is the leader of the championship with 70 points, only three ahead Andrea Dovizioso, who took 25 points from El Diablo in the last two races. They are followed by Miller with the satellite Ducati, Binder et Nakagami, who rides with the 2019 Honda. It is a decidedly atypical season with a calendar and obligations which already made it unprecedented because of the coronavirus.

“In the first race, Marc Marquez humiliated us”

Certainly, but some say that with a Marc Marquez still in the running, we wouldn't be there. An opinion that Danilo Petrucci do not share: “ jI don't think things would have changed much with Marc from what we see so far. Of course, in the first race he humiliated us all a bit, because he came from last place to the first positions, he was almost first. He had incredible rhythm ».

« But Quartararo also had it in Jerez, then in Brno and in Austria, he marked time. I don't know how it would have gone with Marc, we'll never know. But after the first two races, Quartararo seemed unbeatable and now nonot. »

Without Márquez on the track and with the world championship more open than ever, MotoGP has its next stop at the San Marino Grand Prix, on the circuit of Misano. A route which should correspond to the characteristics of the Yamaha and return it to the noble zone of the grid, even if Dovizioso et KTM, in full swing, could cause trouble.
