From 2025, Pierer Mobility AG, the Austrian company that owns several motorcycle brands, has decided to review its strategy in MotoGP and other categories of the motorcycle world championship. Thus, KTM will become the only brand of the group to be represented in MotoGP, while GASGAS and Husqvarna will undergo significant strategic reallocations.

KTM will now be the only brand of Pierer Mobility AG on the MotoGP starting grid. The four RC16s will be unified under the KTM emblem, with renowned riders such as Brad Binder, Pedro Acosta, Maverick Vinales et Enea Bastianini. This decision aims to strengthen the identity and presence of KTM as the dominant force in the premier class of motorcycling.

The brand Husqvarna will withdraw from the Moto3 and Moto2 categories from 2025. Hubert Trunkenpolz, representative of Pierer Mobility Group, told Speedweek that Husqvarna would focus exclusively on off-road competitions. This reorientation aims to make Husqvarna a benchmark brand for off-road disciplines, thus optimizing resources and efforts to dominate this specific segment of the market.

GASGAS, for its part, will leave the MotoGP category but will continue to be present in intermediate series, such as Moto3 and Moto2. The objective is to make GASGAS a brand dedicated to the training and development of young talents. These riders will thus have the opportunity to progress and, potentially, climb the ranks to the MotoGP category under the banner KTM.

The decision to withdraw GASGAS et Husqvarna MotoGP and Grand Prix grids to better focus on specific segments stems from the observation that the presence of multiple brands has not produced the expected results. Pierer Mobility AG hopes that by adopting a more sectoral and orderly approach, each brand can excel in its respective field. For KTM, the exclusive focus on the MotoGP category aims to strengthen its position and maximize the chances of success.

By reorganizing its brands, Pierer Mobility AG seeks to optimize its resources and improve its performance in different motorcycling disciplines. KTM will become the unique face of the group in MotoGP, While Husqvarna et GASGAS will focus respectively on off-road and the training of young talents. This new strategy should allow each brand to develop more effectively and strengthen its position in the global motorcycle market.
