The Moto2 World Champion was rewarded at the Gazzetta Awards and received the prize for best promise of the year.

Francis Bagnaia keeps up the rewards. After being crowned by the International Federation, the young MotoGP debutant was awarded the prize for “best promise of the year” at the Awards ceremony organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport. He rubbed shoulders with the greatest champions of sport as well as the biggest stars of television and entertainment. Here is the article dedicated to him by the Rosea in its edition of Wednesday December 5 and written by Paolo Ianieri, the MotoGP reporter.

Francesco Bagnaia is going fast. So quickly that the wonderful adventure which led him to eight victories and four other podiums with the title of Moto2 World Champion as a bonus is already almost forgotten in people's minds. Obviously, since he made his debut on the Ducati, just four days after the end of the Championship, first in Valencia and then in Jerez, he proved to be very talented and immediately fast. He is also totally focused on this new challenge that the premier category represents, as he explained on the Awards stage: “In our sport, MotoGP is the maximum to reach, and to be able to race there with the Ducati, the bike I always wanted, is fantastic. For me it's a dream come true. »

The celebrations continue to follow for “Pecco” since last Friday he was received in Siena, at Pramac, his new team with whom the feeling was immediately good. On Sunday, he then went to Andorra to the big gala of the International Federation where he was rewarded by the new president, Jorge Viegas, for his title. This Saturday he will party in Turin with his fans, and in the meantime he will make appearances on X Factor and other shows. “I already understand that as World Champion I will be very busy this winter, but I hope to be able to experience this situation again. It remains an enjoyable effort. »

Regardless, he showed up to the Gazzetta Awards with a clear goal: “I came here to win. Did I succeed or not? » he asked impatiently before the ceremony began. He can be satisfied. He is the best promise of the year and was rewarded, on stage, by Melissa Satta and the chef Alessandro Borghese, a big motorcycling fan. The latter teased him about his new challenge in MotoGP, where he will meet Valentino Rossi, his opponent at the Ranch and team boss just a month ago: “Will you challenge Valentino next year? » The young Italian's response is clear: " I'm not ready yet. I followed him on the track a few times during testing and I must say that I was more emotional than focused on my driving. I grew up in the “Rossi era”: I was born in 1997, the year of his first world title. To race against him and so many other drivers I've watched on TV for years is incredible. Sharing the track alongside them is just magnificent. But don't ask me to become the new Valentino. It is possible to try to get closer to him, but no one can be like him, he is unique. »
