Facing the rumor, justified, of the possible departure of Red Bull from the KTM fairings of the Tech3 team, it was not easy for Hervé Poncharal to express himself without offending the legitimate sensitivities of each of these two Austrian entities.

However, this is what he decided to do by answering questions from Simon Crafar live on the official MotoGP.com website during the first free practice session of the Catalan Grand Prix

Hervé Poncharal : " Red Bull and KTM are both Austrian companies, they speak the same language and their headquarters are something like 25 minutes apart. So I think they communicate a lot with each other and I also know that they talked about Tech3. Our contract is with KTM for three years: 2019, 2020 and 2021. We have no problem for the following seasons. The only question is that I believe the Austrian managements of Red Bull and KTM are talking among themselves about next year. This is the main issue but I'm not worried. My only concern is to put Iker and Miguel in a good position at the end of the year. Miguel is currently the highest placed KTM rider in the championship standings, as he is eighth, 25 points off the lead. So I think we're not doing a bad job, and if some people want to stay with us, they're welcome, and if they want to drop us, they're welcome too. »
