The Pramac driver was in difficulty today and ended his first tests of the Catalan Grand Prix rather far behind.

This first day of free practice in Barcelona did not at all smile on the Ducati riders, who finished for the vast majority at the bottom of the standings, with a trio made up of Francesco Bagnaia, Esteve Rabat and Danilo Petrucci in the last three places. Blame it on the wind and the lack of grip which particularly handicapped the Desmosedici. In the middle of the red chaos, only Johann Zarco managed to do well by taking second place in the combined times ranking.

Next to the Frenchman, really at ease throughout the sessions, Jack Miller managed to save honor by rising to 11th place at the very end of FP2. The Australian, always very comfortable on his machine, is often one of the Borgo Panigale brand riders to do the best, regardless of the conditions, and it is rare to see him in such difficulty.

He finished 18th in FP1 this morning then 11th in FP2 this afternoon. We are a long way from his first row in qualifying last week and his general pace since the start of the season. However, he at least managed to set a time fast enough to get closer to the top 10.

“It’s a set of things that didn’t help me”, explained the Pramac pilot. “I had no grip and the wind was really strong. Tomorrow the weather conditions should be better so we hope to be able to ride to the maximum of our abilities. »

With his final 12th place this Friday, nothing is yet certain for tomorrow's qualifications. However, he will have a chance to escape and move directly into Q2 tomorrow morning at the end of FP3. Response, therefore, from 9:55 a.m.
