The Spanish rider, who will contest his last Grand Prix with Gresini Racing this weekend in Barcelona, was satisfied with his year and eager to join the official Ducati team in 2025. As the final race of the season approaches in Barcelona, Marc Marquez focuses on his third place in the championship while welcoming the end of his time at Gresini Racing. After a 2024 marked by ups and downs, the Spanish driver discusses his career and his ambitions for the future, including his move to the official team Ducati in 2025.
Marquez is pragmatic about his current position in the championship: " obviously, I will try to finish third in the championship. I will try, but I have no worries whether I succeed or not. I prefer to have a good race. For thank the team for all the efforts made this year and everything Gresini, who in just one year, has become a very important team for my sports career. We will try to do it in the best way to end the year well."
The pilot of Gresini Racing team also looks to its future with Ducati that holds the top spot. " On Tuesday, in Montmelò, I will ride a Ducati GP25 for the first time. With desire too. Logically, when a rider joins the official team, it is a positive leap. The responsibility is the same, but media management will be different. But first, we have to finish this year and the other one will start on Tuesday."

On the title duel between George Martin et Francis Bagnaia, Marquez remains cautious but leans towards his compatriot: " I bet on Martin because he's the safest bet. But in motorcycling, you know anything can happen."
Finally, the champion does not hide the fact that he was thinking about retirement a year ago, but that this idea is now behind him: " A year ago I was thinking about retiring, and a year later it's not on my mind anymore. I don't know what will happen in two years., but I learned that you should always leave the doors ajar. We are all family in this paddock, and you never know where it will lead us."
