MV Agusta

This was done almost quietly and in view of past experiences, we can a priori be reassured about the consequences of the operation initiated by KTM towards MV Agusta. Because for several weeks now, the Austrians have had a majority in the capital of the illustrious Varese firm. And without insulting Husqvarna, GASGAS and even KTM itself, this is the touch of prestige that has just been assured within the Pierer Mobility AG group. This done, it will be necessary to highlight this coat of arms like what was done for the others mentioned above. We then spontaneously think of seeing him return to the premier category of Grands Prix, that is to say in MotoGP. A completely possible project because apparently already envisaged internally…

KTM will take care of MV Agusta and undoubtedly according to a method of which Husqvarna et GASGAS have had no complaints so far. If we follow this logic, an appearance on Grand Prix fairings could not be long in coming. Given the history of Grands Prix, this would not be nothing and it already excites the very Italian as team manager of the official KTM team Francesco Guidotti : " I already suggested putting MV on our motorcycles ". Like with Husqvarna et GASGAS ? Not exactly : " with MV, it's something else, because we're talking about 90 world titles » declared the Tuscan on GP One.

He also welcomes the partnership with enthusiasm: “ I think that KTM's intervention in the acquisition of MV allows us to keep the brand alive, because we all know that controlling the purchasing department is strategic. This is an important synergy, which can lead to excellent results ».

« With MV Agusta, Made in Italy will remain in Italy«

He adds : " In my opinion it is positive. As with Ducati, the funds are foreign, but the brand is Italian. I don't think there is any particular desire to move a brand and production like that, especially if particular models like MVs are produced. Made in Italy will remain in Italy ».

This reflection on a manufacturer leads him to talk about the current forces present in MotoGP: “ in my opinion, like Yamaha won the championship last year, they didn't think about shaking up or revolutionizing the bike, but rather refining it. That's probably what they did, but they didn't do it much » evaluates Guidotti who continues: “ Honda made a completely new bike, which looked very promising from testing, and we were a little afraid of it. I don't think they stay still, only European manufacturers have shown more desire ».

He finishes : " having to catch up, they entered into a fairly extreme development process. We certainly also have a lighter internal bureaucracy. Ducati and KTM have a purely racing nature, while the Japanese companies are a bit more involved in production and the production process ».
