Claudio Domenicali

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali recently shared his outlook on the current MotoGP season and Ducati’s dominant role in the championship in an interview with Corriere della Sera. With four Ducati riders leading the overall standings, Domenicali expressed his pride in seeing an Italian brand dominate a sport historically dominated by Japanese manufacturers.

« In the end, we changed history, imposing an Italian system based on technology and technicians from our universities. This proves that we also excel in professions that require scientific rigor and method,” he said.

He also spoke about the loyalty of Gigi Dall'Igna, the chief engineer of Ducati, despite the temptations of competitors. Sundays stressed the importance of a serene relationship and a shared ambition to maintain a solid collaboration: “ When we met in 2013, Gigi was already a well-prepared engineer, but he had never aspired to the world championship. Together we cultivated a dream and made it come true »

Sundays also confirmed that Marc Marquez will soon be on equal terms: " Next year, Marc will ride the same bike as Pecco. This will encourage both to improve.. » On the arrival of Marquez, he explained: " We always believed in him, despite the risks. In 2025 he will ride an official Ducati, and we have full confidence in him »

Regarding the 2027 rule changes, which could limit the dominance of Ducati, Domenicali remains confident but realistic: " It is clear that there is an attempt to stop Ducati. But in the race, there are cycles, and ours has been going on for a while. We will continue to work to stay competitive »

The determination of Ducati for the future of MotoGP is therefore well displayed, with a strong team and ambitious objectives.
