MotoGP: Brad Binder impresses KTM and captivates the Tech3 riders, but Remy Gardner has some doubts

Brad Binder's talent has propelled the KTM brand to new heights, earning him well-deserved praise. Yes, but…

During the last Japanese Grand Prix, Brad Binder made a little more impression than usual in this MotoGP season where he confirmed himself on the handlebars of his KTM as one of the best riders in the field. Second at Motegi, by slotting himself between two Ducatis considered, by far, the best machine on the field, the South African logically attracted the honors of the nevertheless demanding Mattighofen staff, starting with Pit Beirer. It is also an example for Tech3 pilots also equipped with RC16. Which doesn't stop Remy Gardner from openly asking a question that will certainly be disturbing...

Brad Binder will be a real challenge for Jack Miller when he takes up residence in 2023 at KTM, as it is currently for Miguel Oliveira who shares the box with the South African. The latter is the one who overtakes the most in a race within a MotoGP peloton that some swear is no longer possible to gain places in the hierarchy in this way. A talent that is his trademark. His local boss Pete Beirer, the sports man for the Austrian brand became its first fan, especially after his last performance at Japan : “ Brad Binder is a gigantic driver » he bluntly told Motegi.

For its part, Raul fernandez added about his distinguished colleague: “ this is madness. I drove at the limit every lap, that's all I could do. After the race, when I saw that he was second, I said to myself: Ok, he really is in another world ».

Brad Binder: on the podium for the first time since Doha in March

« At KTM they tell us we have the same equipment, but I can't believe it »

And he adds: “ if you look at the data, especially after this race in Japan, there are only details that differentiate us. He is riding the same bike for the third season in the same team, in the factory team. These details make the difference ».

« The same motorcycle » ? This is precisely the question that arises Remy gardner on speedweek : " I don't know. They tell us we have the same equipment, but I can't believe it. It's obvious that what we do as pilots can't be that bad. I can only say that there is nothing left to take out of the package ". But he joins everyone at KTM to only say good things about Brad Binder : " I'm looking at Brad Binder's data, but I already know where he's making up time: he's making up a lot of ground when braking and accelerating. If we drove like Brad or Miguel we would crash, I don't know how they do it » concludes the Australian, who will be a pilot Yamaha in WSBK in 2023.
