Enea Bastianini hoped to embark with the Ducati squad for Qatar, but the health crisis once again intervened in the process in order to demonstrate that it is still she who is in charge. His PCR test proved inconclusive so that the reigning Moto2 World Champion had to stay on the ground. It's certainly a postponement, but for his tests on Friday at Losail, it promises to be tight...

Things don't start too well for the MotoGP rookie put by Ducati within the Avintia team. Enea Bastianini was in fact hoping to go with the Ducati troops on a trip organized by the brand for its riders and staff. But a PCR test which gave an inconclusive result decided otherwise.

According to GP One, bastianini has already had two other tests and both came back negative. However, he loses one day and that counts in an offseason that only has six. With these 24 hours of delay in departure, he will arrive in Doha in the evening and, at the airport, will have to undergo another PCR test and quarantine at the hotel while awaiting the result, which should arrive within 00 hours.

A procedure which could cause him to miss the Friday tests reserved for test drivers and beginners. If this is the case, he will have to wait until Saturday to get on the Ducati for the first time.
