Marc Marquez

Here is a new episode in the life of MotoGP and Grands Prix which will call even more attention to the skills of those who are in charge. In the middle of the drivers' press conference in Austin a press release came from the MotoGP Court of Appeal contacted by Honda to review the second decision of the FIM commissioners, still sanctioning Marc Marquez for the facts of the Portuguese Grand Prix, but obliging the culprit will no longer have to serve his sentence at the next meeting, but at the one where he presents himself fit. The decision was eagerly awaited. And the mountain gave birth to a mouse.

In short, the situation this evening becomes even more complicated to understand than before... Because the FIM Court of Appeal decided NOT TO DECIDE FOR THE MOMENT and SUSPENDED the application of the double long lap sanction imposed on Marc Marquez for irresponsible driving.

However, we read from the jurisdiction “ that there is reason to conclude that the balance of interests tilts in favor of granting a stay of execution requested by callers ". With this note: “ a final decision on the appeal will be made in due course ". Honda therefore obtained a reprieve, before the final decision which should take place within the four-week period initially mentioned.

So here is a sword of Damocles placed on the unfolding of this season, because the current situation means that Marc Marquez may be sanctioned in “a due time” or never.

Will Marc Marquez pull through?
