Marc Marquez

Marc Márquez kept us in suspense but it's finally here: he and Ducati have finally announced the renewal of their MotoGP contract.

This is an announcement that has been eagerly awaited. Since the beginning of the season, everyone has been expecting the contract extension of Marc Márquez He was in the official Ducati team, but it wasn't happening. The reason: the physical condition of number 93, which was delaying his decision.

He had indeed made no secret of his desire to formalize things once he was fully aware of his state of health. After sweeping everything in Hungary 15 days ago, and then having imposed again on Sunday in Brnoon a physically demanding circuit, Márquez seems to have received the confirmation he was waiting for. His career in MotoGP will therefore be written in red for the next two years, since the agreement runs until 2028.

Marc Márquez : “I’m red. I’m really happy with this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family. When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced it was the most competitive project there was. They believed in me, and we built a relationship based on trust and hard work. With this renewal, they have once again reaffirmed that commitment, respecting my time and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision. From our very first year together, we fought for the title, and we won it: an invaluable result that confirms we were on the right path. I’m continuing to race because I love this sport, and I want to strive for even more ambitious goals. I’m convinced this is the right place to achieve them. As long as I’m here, I’ll give my all to paint the future red.”

Claudio DomenicaliCEO of Ducati Corse: “Renewing Marc’s contract for the 2027 and 2028 seasons is the most obvious choice after the incredible results we achieved together in his first season in red. He brought even greater determination and an extraordinary competitive spirit to an already winning team. Marc, in addition to being an exceptional rider, perfectly embodies the Ducati mentality: unwavering dedication and selflessness, but also team harmony and the ability to be highly professional while maintaining a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Continuing our collaboration ensures the continuity of a successful project and allows us to approach the coming seasons with the ambition of keeping Ducati at the top of MotoGP.”

Gigi Dall'Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse: “Trust: that’s where the relationship between Ducati and Marc begins. He contacted us first, then he chose us, and today we are happy to announce that we are building a very promising future together. Marc has always placed his passion, motivation, and competitive spirit above all else in the choices that have guided his experience with the Ducati Lenovo Team. He is the most important rider in this MotoGP. He has placed his trust in the entire team: we are very proud of that, and it has motivated us to always give our best to support him. As an engineer, working with Marc has impressed me. He has pushed the Desmosedici GP to its maximum performance, optimizing every component. The ambitions remain unchanged, and I am happy to be able to experience, both on a sporting and personal level, a new chapter of this Ducati story with Marc.”
