Marc Marquez takes a date with this video.

Marc Marquez is recovering well from his right humerus injury sustained eight months ago after a violent fall at the first Grand Prix of the 2020 MotoGP season in Jerez. Doctors cleared him to return to motorcycling after three operations and an infection. The eight-time World Champion responded favorably to the signal almost instantly by riding the minibike then the big RC213V-S in Barcelona and Portimao. His participation in the 2021 campaign from its start was on the horizon. The doctors, again, had to decide. And the decision fell...

Marc Marquez went to see his doctors. And in the examination carried out on the Spanish runner by the medical team led by doctors Samuel Antuña and Ignacio Roger de Oña, and composed of doctors De Miguel, Ibarzabal and García Villanueva, 15 weeks after the operation for an infected pseudarthrosis of the right humerus, a good clinical response was observed after the intensification of his training.

However, given the period and current state of the bone consolidation process, doctors consider it prudent and necessary not to accelerate Marc Márquez's return to the track after such a period of inactivity, and to avoid putting the humerus at risk during intense competitions. The team driver Repsol Honda will undergo a new medical check-up on Monday 12 April.

Marc Marquez listens to his doctors

Marc Márquez, who learned from this experience, agreed with the advice of his doctors: “ After the last examination with the medical team, the doctors advised me that the most prudent thing was not to take part in the Qatar Grand Prix and to continue the recovery plan that we have followed in recent weeks. I would have liked to be able to participate in the opening race of the World Championship, but we will have to continue working to be able to find the optimal conditions that allow us to return to competition ».

The first two Grand Prix at Losail will therefore be missed, since the next visit is for the 12th April. We are now waiting for the official to return Honda for the third round in Portugal, Portimao. At Honda, Stefan bradl should return to service and he was not clumsy during the offseason tests. It will be recalled that Pol Espargaro, the newcomer to Honda, was also promising for his first steps on the RC213V.

Marc Marquez finds his favorite position.
