Davide Brivio, the current team manager of Suzuki in MotoGP, managed Valentino's interests when he broke his leg during testing for the Italian Grand Prix in 2010. He therefore knows him very well and believes that his rapid return this summer after his training accident must be shown as an example to young pilots.

On August 31, Rossi fractured the tibia and fibula of his right leg, and he underwent emergency surgery on September 1. The Italian missed the Misano race, but was back on his M22 in Aragon, just XNUMX days after suffering his injury.

In Spain, he qualified on the front row then held second place for about half the race, eventually finishing half a second behind his teammate Maverick Vinales, in fifth position. Rossi then took his first podium after his leg injury with a second place at Phillip Island.

Davide Brivio is in awe of the will and passion that gives Valentino such motivation, despite his 38 years. If Vale had taken a little more time to complete his convalescence, everyone would have understood that he would miss the Aragon Grand Prix to make his comeback at the next event which took place at Motegi. There were only 15 days between Misano and Aragon, but five weeks between Misano and the Motegi-Phillip Island-Sepang triptych.

“Valentino has always surprised me, but on this occasion what surprised me the most was his motivation to come back so quickly and so early, Brivio raves.

“By that I mean you'd think after such a long career, after winning everything he's won, missing a race wouldn't make a big difference, right?

“But instead he worked very hard and made a big effort to be back one race ahead of schedule.

“I always say that Valentino is a role model and I hope that the younger generation of drivers will see what he has done and try to have the same motivation.

“They should take an example from the passion and motivation he has for wanting to ride his motorcycle.

“I was happy for that, I hope many other drivers will look at what he did and imitate his example. »
