It was with anger in their stomach that the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team left a Jerez track which nevertheless promised them great results. The Austrian RC16 had shown all its progress from one season to the next, but the circumstances of the race took a toll on the flock of the French team who left Andalusia empty-handed. Here they are on their way to the Czech Republic and the route to Brno. With this instruction given by boss Hervé Poncharal: make people forget the disillusionment of Jerez!

Hervé Poncharal intends to Brno, circuit which will receive the Czech Republic Grand Prix, to take revenge on a fate that was not favorable to him Jerez. Before closing his suitcase, he declares: “ After the disappointment of the Gran Premio Red Bull de Andalucía, where we didn't score any points with our two drivers, it's really good to know that we have three races coming up very soon. It is clear that the setback in Spain was enormous. The expectation after Miguel's weekend and his superb qualifying performance was sky high and giving up without a fight is a tough thing to swallow.

The positive thing is that we saw that the four KTM RC16s were very competitive. Not only were Miguel's qualifications exceptional, but also the few laps that Brad Binder did in the race showed the great level of our machine. We just hope to be able to reproduce the same performance in the Czech Republic and Austria to confirm the potential of the rider and the machine.

“We have a realistic possibility of being strong in Brno”

Last year in Brno was the last time we rode the 2019 spec machine, we had the upgrade of it in the following round, so it's difficult to get a real basis for making predictions. But Miguel was quite fast and happy with the behavior of his bike on this track, so I believe we have a realistic possibility of being strong there.

The atmosphere and feeling within the KTM MotoGP department is very positive. Either way, we are trying to put the Spanish retirements of Miguel and Iker behind us and continue to score important points in the championship. Our two drivers are in good shape, feeling good and are eager to get back on the track. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 team is definitely ready for the next three races and can't wait to start Friday's FP1! ».
