MotoGP Brno J2, Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Q4/S4) admits: “Contact with Fabio Quartararo was useless”

For a few races, Marco Bezzecchi is frequently part of the leading pack; in Brno again, he was in the mix. The Aprilia factory rider, who undoubtedly played a role in Jorge Martin's "extension" with the Noale firm – given his recent results – is stringing together good performances. He didn't manage to finish in the top three in qualifying or in the Sprint, but that doesn't matter: Aprilia is now regularly at the forefront, and this is very reassuring.

Marco Bezzecchi was quite happy with his result, but regrets a few decisions, notably his missed overtaking move on Fabio Quartararo. « The race went well, with good times and good overtaking.I'm happy with the result. The contact with Fabio was an unnecessary mistake. I saw him disappear on the descent. I took the whole corner with a little gas, trying to stay close to him, waiting for him to come back in front, but he came back closer than expected. I'm also disappointed because I broke all the aerodynamics and braking was complicated., but overall it was a good race." he confided upon arrival.

 

 

The Italian was one of the few to use a soft rear tire, while the rest of the grid was on medium. However, he managed to get away from Trackhouse Racing driver Raul Fernandez in the final moments. « We didn't have time to work with the mediums, so we opted for the softsWe'll try it tomorrow morning and use the data to determine what we can do differently on the bike. When braking, I had to apply a lot of brake pressure, which locked the front end and overtaking was difficult. Bestia rode well on the last lap, and I couldn't attack again » he continued.

 

 

Bezzecchi is somewhat apprehensive about the twice-long Sunday race due to the lack of training. "We have little information this weekend because of the weather; everything is unknown. We'll see, because I felt good at the end of the race, but today, in my haste to recover, I ended up losing ground.We'll see what we can do tomorrow." he concluded.
