Francesco Bagnaia finished just off the podium in Brno and hopes to find a solution, knowing that his Ducati will not change.
Francis Bagnaia finished the Czech Republic Grand Prix just off the podium, still hampered by the same old problem. The races keep coming and going, and the two-time World Champion is struggling to find a way to adapt to the GP25.
Despite his first pole position of the season, he was unable to take advantage of this grid advantage. Like yesterday in the sprint race, he made the best start this Sunday and took the lead in the first corner, before being overtaken again by Marc Márquez in the third. However, he tried to resist by overtaking him again, but was only able to lead the race for one lap. Then, he found himself third, overtaken in turn by Marco Bezzecchi and the number 93.
In the following laps, he was also passed by Pedro Acosta and Enea Bastianini, but the Italian's crash allowed him to reclaim fourth place, which he remained in for the entire race. Although he caught up with Acosta at the end of the race, he claims that he would not have been able to overtake him, and that fourth place was the best result he could have achieved.
"At the beginning I couldn't take advantage of braking and corner entry. I tried to find another way to be fast but that's our limit. Halfway through the race I was able to manage the rear traction better because the sensations when braking and entering the corner were similar. Pedro was strong and, even if I had caught up with him, I wouldn't have been able to overtake him.", he said during his debriefing.
The GP25 is definitely not suitable for bagnaia, who is aware, however, that it will not be possible to change it by the end of the season. All that remains is for him to continue working, stay calm and on his wheels, and manage to find a way to become competitive on his bike. The Italian will have the entire summer break to prepare to return to his best form by mid-August.
“Since the first Grand Prix in Thailand, my problem has been with braking and corner entry. Before I was very competitive, I was even one of the hardest drivers to overtake, and now on the contrary I am the easiest., he lamented. "I'm really struggling because everyone is overtaking me. Unfortunately, I can't stop the bike. When I brake hard, I can't stop it, and when I'm less aggressive, I have trouble taking the corner. I just hope I can find a solution at some point."
"In the end, the bike is what it is, its DNA is like that and you can't change it. I'm going to give it my all, as always, and when I have the opportunity to fight, I'll fight. Otherwise, I'll finish fourth, like today. I'm going on vacation with a fourth place after giving it my all."
