Mir Brno

Clearly, fate persists. This is now the third consecutive Grand Prix that Joan Mir has been knocked down by a competitor., and the Brno crash was perhaps the most impressive of the three. Alex Marquez sliced him up in a sort of failed overtaking attempt. The two men were seen arguing on the sidelines, but clearly, the 2020 MotoGP world champion is not ready to calm down.

It's rare for Joan Mir to get angry, but today he had some things to say about Alex Marquez. Apparently, the crash wasn't the first time he'd suffered an attack during the race. « There's not much to say, I think it's like in court; anything I say can be used against me. Alex blocked my path several times during the two laps, touching me several times until I fell. That's what happened, nothing else happened to me. Obviously, I was and still am angry about the situation and what happened. He was trying to come up with excuses and whatnot, but nothing interesting, to be honest. » he affirmed in the columns of Motosan.

Alex Marquez, often blamed for collisions, will be penalized for a long lap at the next Grand Prix, scheduled for mid-August in Austria. This is all the more unfortunate for Joan Mir, because this time he seemed to have some speed. « Good start, no electronic problems today like yesterday, I placed myself where I should have, I controlled the first laps well. There was a bit of chaos up front, so I stayed back a little to save some rubber » he added.

In perspective, Joan Mir does not want to hear about bad luck, and we can understand why. « I don't believe in luck or bad luck.. I think the situation stems from the positions we find ourselves in with this bike. It's a bike that goes much slower than the others. In each straight line, you are given 5, even 10, kilometers per hour more, and you are always at a disadvantage when braking. » he concluded.
