The official Ducati rider particularly suffered this Sunday and finished last of the riders riding the Desmosedici GP20.

If Ducati was delighted with Johann Zarco's podium in Brno, the atmosphere was not festive within the official box. This start to the season is proving to be very difficult, both for Andrea Dovizioso who managed to achieve good results mainly thanks to the bad luck of his opponents, and for Danilo Petrucci, who did no better than ninth place in three races. Things are a little more positive in terms of sensations for the Pramac drivers, but not better in practice with a fall for Jack Miller at Jerez 2 as well as an abandonment due to a technical problem then a fracture for Francesco Bagnaia.

Luck therefore seems to have left the Red clan, who experienced an even more difficult weekend than the previous ones in the Czech Republic, in particular for Danilo Petrucci, who finished last of the drivers riding the Desmosedici GP20. However, practice and qualifying went well for him and he automatically moved into Q2, before qualifying in eighth position. This was much further than Johann Zarco's pole position, but much better than Miller and Dovizioso's 14th and 18th positions.

However, when the lights went out, the situation deteriorated for him. From eighth he rose to fourteenth, and only managed to regain two places in the final laps. He ultimately finished twelfth, behind his teammate and the Australian.

“We knew this Sunday was going to be difficult but I didn't expect to be so slow at the start”, he explained. “Unfortunately, I suffered a lot from the lack of grip, a problem we encounter every weekend. I had a lot of trouble maintaining a good pace throughout the race. Today I gave everything without being able to get a good result, so now we have to move forward. Fortunately, next weekend we already have a chance to make up for it since we will be riding in Austria. »
