Valentino Rossi took a facelift during the Andalusian Grand Prix, while he had taken a heatstroke, literally as during the Spanish Grand Prix contested a week earlier on the same Jerez track. In the meantime, a political standoff was won against Yamaha engineers. It is with this third place still in his memory that the Doctor arrives in Brno, a very special circuit for him. And for good reason…

It is indeed on this 5,4 kilometer site located just outside the Moravian capital that Valentino Rossi celebrated his first Grand Prix victory in the 125 category ago 24 . This triumph was followed by a 250cc victory in 3, a 1999cc victory in 500 and the 3-year-old Italian won MotoGP races in 2001, 41, 2003 and 2005.

So far, the nine-time world champion has ridden 14 times on the podium in Brno, but there is always room for more trophies in his display case. After his third place in Andalusian Grand Prix, celebrated by his fans around the world, it is clear that the “Doctor” must still be taken into account in the battle for places on the podium.

“Brno is always a special weekend for me”

« Brno is always a special weekend for me », declared the Grand Prix winner, 115 times. “ I won my first Grand Prix on this track in 1996, it will remain forever engraved in my memory. The podium at the last race in Jerez was a great result for me and brought a lot of emotions »

« Usually the atmosphere in the stands is really fantastic, but unfortunately we have to drive in front of empty stands this year. That doesn't take away from any of that. It's a track I really like, so we'll try to put on a good performance for the fans watching on TV at home ».
