Cal Crutchlow should be considered as a rider with extensive experience in a MotoGP in which he could participate for the last time in this 2020 season. The Englishman's body is worn out by injuries and more or less completed convalescences. He is also a family man who would like to spend more time with his family. This experience opened his eyes to the fundamentals of the manufacturers he surveyed. Three are in his CV: Yamaha, Ducati and Honda. And here’s what makes them tick…

Cal Crutchlow is 34 years old and has a career that is as busy as his career path is atypical. In 2006, when he won the British Supersport championship, nothing predisposed him to imagine that in 2011 he would find himself in MotoGP… And yet, after a world title, still in Supersport, in 2009, and a year with Yamaha in Superbike, he was recruited by Hervé Poncharal who has no equal when it comes to spotting talent.

After three years on the M1, he went to Ducati as an official where he only did one campaign before signing with HRC for a position at LCR which he has held since 2015. The Englishman therefore knows well what is best in MotoGP. And he gives us his feedback: “ they work completely differently, they all want to win. But the way they do it is completely different “, he told MCN. “ We cannot say that one way or another it is the right one. They all work well and all win races ».

« Ducati's philosophy is to want to demonstrate its technology to the whole world and also to want the most powerful engine ", said Crutchlow, who, at Brno, was the first Briton to win a race in the premier motorcycle class after Barry Sheene in 1981.

« Yamaha believes the bike is easy to ride. The Honda is more communicative. As a driver you drive the Honda more actively and also give more input. This is why the Honda works well. I've always wanted to be on a factory Honda and I have the opportunity. It makes me proud to work with HRC and ride one of the bikes I've always dreamed of », Underlined Cal who knows how to please as well as disturb his employer.
