Canal + will launch two new digital channels, one dedicated to Formula 1, the other to MotoGP.

These two channels will be accessible to subscribers who have subscribed to the Sport Pack (€39.90/month) from Canal+, directly on MyCanal.

Contacted by Freebox universe, Canal support indicated that these channels should see the light of day on March 13 for F1 and March 6 for MotoGP, just before the first Grand Prix.

It will thus offer all the broadcasts, tests, qualifications, warmups, races, podiums and debriefings.

Obviously, the question that arises is “what does this change compared to last year for subscribers? ", apart from the fact that it was often necessary to juggle between the group's different channels and that, sometimes, the sessions were not complete due to very busy sports news.

Canal+ should soon clarify the situation…

The editorial by Thierry Cheleman, Sports Director of the C+ group

“For the eighth season of Formula 1™ and the second of MotoGP™ on our broadcasts, CANAL+ is more than ever on the starting grid, with even more Grands Prix to come! With substantial experience and recognized know-how, the motor sports editorial team led by Thomas Sénécal is preparing to travel the globe once again. The 2020 season is already under the sign of immersion, proximity, emotion and expertise: we will offer broadcasts of all sessions, enriched services on myCANAL, reports and interviews, live broadcasts around all our journalists and consultants. The biggest stars of the circuits, including French drivers, who compete every weekend, in an exceptional setting, exclusively on our channels: this is the DNA of CANAL+, both in Formula 1™ and in MotoGP™. New this season, we are launching two myCANAL channels exclusively dedicated to Formula 1™ and MotoGP™. Like what we have been offering since this winter for the Premier League and the TOP 14, these channels will offer an uninterrupted stream each race weekend, so that fans can follow 100% of the practice sessions at the Grands Prix on a canal
unique digital. And since our subscribers praise the treatment of motor sports on CANAL+, we are even happier to have extended our Formula 1™ broadcast rights until 2022! »

The editorial by Thomas Senecal, Director of the motor sports editorial offices of the C+ group

“With the 2020 Formula 1™ and MotoGP™ seasons, we will broadcast 32 Grand Prix weekends between the beginning of March and the end of November. 32 weekends immersed in the paddocks, on the most beautiful circuits on the planet, in the wake of the best drivers in the world. Hamilton, Marquez, Quartararo, Rossi, Leclerc, Gasly, Grosjean, Ocon, Zarco and the others will be the heroes of our series, the emblematic characters of a season richer than ever. Thanks to the new digital channels on myCANAL, our subscribers' experience is enriched. They will be able to see all the sessions, in all the categories. We will put in place special arrangements for the French Motorcycle Grand Prix on May 17 at Le Mans, and for the French F1 Grand Prix on June 28 on the Castellet circuit. And to properly attack this very exciting season, we will offer three unencrypted events on March 6, 7 and 8 on CANAL+. »
