Casey Stoner

Casey Stoner definitely kept very good memories of his escapade in the MotoGP paddock during the last two Grands Prix of the 2021 season. An opportunity offered by his former house Ducati and which the double world champion seized with both arms, taking advantage as well as a lull in the health crisis to leave his native Australia. He who only liked riding his motorbike on the track found himself behind the scenes which he did not appreciate at the time and which he actually fled. But the reunion went very well, so well in fact that Stoner wouldn't be against doing it again...

Un Casey Stoner listened to official drivers Ducati like a coach, this is the image that remained of the Australian's return to the MotoGP paddock. An implication which raised the question of a possible future mission that the brand's executives, starting with the most senior among them, Gigi Dall'Igna hurriedly moved aside. This would indeed require great availability which would require a foothold in Europe, especially in these times of health crisis.

That being said, Casey Stoner liked to return to this environment where he grew up and he thus confided in motogp.com : " as difficult as life within the GP circus is sometimes, the paddock community is a kind of family for me. Because I grew up in this environment. There aren't too many new faces either, there are some, but I met a lot of people with whom I made my career “, declared the double world champion.

For Casey Stoner, almost three and a half years without seeing each other is way too long

« The last time we met was almost three and a half years ago, and in my opinion, that's way too long ", added Stoner who emphasized: “ the health situation makes many things difficult, we miss the trips and the fans and we can't wait to see them again ».

At the same time, the retiree from 36 years old confessed: “ but it was also great for me to be able to meet so many people in the paddock without being interrupted. Everyone was much more relaxed, no one was hiding in the box, it made meeting people easier. For me it was fantastic to see all the friends, drivers and mechanics again ". And all this left him wanting to come back, certainly.
