Catalanuya-Barcelona circuit, Thursday June 2 in the morning: the paddock and the press room seem strangely calm before the arrival of most of the drivers and journalists…

We are at this pivotal moment where the rush of setting up hospitality has almost stopped and where drivers and journalists are still heading towards the circuit. In the boxes, we finish the motorcycles, most often with the roller shutters down. The stands are of course empty and the liveliest place in the pit lane, almost deserted, is the technical control.

All this will quickly transform into an anthill that will grow as the days go by but, in the meantime, certain images captured by the lens of our photographer Christian Bourget are quite poignant, like Marc Marquez's rims without tires or his helmet placed on a shelf of the Racing Service Shoei…

It's just an unpretentious snapshot of paddock village life which, from Tuesday to Monday morning, sets up shop 20 times somewhere in the world.
