MotoGP Catalonia Barcelona J3: Johann Zarco (Ducati/3) “hot”!

Having barely got off his Ducati GP22 from the Prima Pramac Racing satellite team after obtaining 3rd place in the Catalan Grand Prix on the Catalunya-Barcelona circuit, Johann zarco spoke in front of the cameras of the official website MotoGP.com with the joy of having received a little unexpected boost... but also a certain frustration at not having benefited from the advantages of its hard rear tire.

Johann, maybe this podium was not expected by you but you really worked very hard this weekend after what happened to you on Friday. Tell us about your race and how you reacted when you saw Aleix Espargaró’s mistake…

Johann zarco : " Cette erreur à la fin était incroyable ! J’étais très reconnaissant d’obtenir le podium dans cette situation car la course était globalement plutôt OK au début, et quand j’ai vu Nakagami arriver si vite au freinage puis subir une grosse chute, j’ai pu gagner quelques positions. J’ai aussi immédiatement doublé Pol Espargaró qui était devant moi, et il y avait ce groupe avec Fabio, Aleix et Martín. Martín était plutôt fort et j’ai vraiment essayé de contrôler mon pneu arrière, mais même en essayant de le contrôler au maximum pour avoir un avantage à la fin, je n’ai pas eu cet avantage et cela a même été pire à la fin. C’était donc très frustrant de manquer de cette vitesse à la fin car j’étais le seul avec un pneu arrière dur et j’aurais dû avoir un avantage, mais je ne l’ai pas eu ! Ensuite, c’était bien de continuer à attaquer car quand Aleix a commis cette erreur du dernier tour, j’ai tout d’abord pensé que c’était un problème mécanique j’ai compris qu’il était en train de célébrer, je me suis dit “finis le tour et attrape le podium”. »
