Three seconds of penalty were inflicted on Fabio Quartararo at the end of the Catalan Grand Prix for passing on the green part at the end of the straight, following the opening of his leather.

The Yamaha rider thus lost his 3rd position acquired in the race on the green carpet to the benefit of Jack Miller.

But the matter did not stop there since, following complaints from certain competing teams (apparently Ducati), the panel of FIM MotoGP commissioners led by Freddie spencer decided to inflict 3 additional seconds for riding without chest protection and with a poorly closed suit on the young Frenchman who currently leads the world championship.

Classification of the race and the championship are therefore revised accordingly: 6th place in Catalonia behind Joan Mir et Maverick Vinales, and only 14 points ahead of Johann zarco...

The Niçois published an ephemeral message on Instagram to express his disappointment with those who had complained: “Congratulations to everyone who complained about an additional penalty. I didn't put anyone in danger like one pilot says, and it was hard enough for me to fly. But great to see the real side of some people. I just want to thank everyone who supports me and helps me during these difficult times. See you next time. »
