MotoGP, Catalonia, J3, Championship: Marc Márquez makes the break and Quartararo second Yamaha rider

Marc Márquez wiped the Austin slate clean in Catalonia to give the true appearance of this 2019 MotoGP championship. The illusion is lifted and it was the blunder of Jorge Lorenzo which broke the spell. Marc Márquez is once again the man for the job this season and perhaps even more so than in other years. No offense to Ducati and others. Interest is now focused on the emergence of a promising next generation in the person of Fabio Quartararo.

We have only completed seven races out of nineteen on the program, but already, the outlines of an eighth career coronation for Marc Márquez are taking shape. The irony of fate is that it was his teammate Jorge Lorenzo , with whom tension was beginning to rise in the Honda box, which cleared the way for him in Catalonia. Literally as figuratively.

In a missed turn, Por Fuera scored Dovizioso, Vinales et Red on his hunting board. Marc Márquez would never have asked for so much! The 48^e victory in the premier category for the 25-year-old Honda official was acquired. Behind, the fight for runners-up was merciless.

A battle which revealed a Ducati that was decidedly complicated to overtake. Alex Rins on Petrucci et Cal Crutchlow on Miller wore out their nerves. The Suzuki official, however, did not commit the irreparable and saved the points for fourth place, unlike the Englishman from the LCR Honda team who finished on the ground.

However, there is one who showed how to solve the Desmosedici problem. His name is fabio quartararo. He observed and delivered the blow at the most opportune moment and then whipped himself out of the clutches of the Ducati engine, much more powerful than that of his Yamaha.

Beautiful work and the 20-year-old Frenchman, for his part, erased the disappointment of Jerez imposed by a mechanical problem. Second in Catalonia, he took his first podium after two pole positions. His teammate Morbidely is forgotten, since he fell while playing outside the top 5. He is the first and only Yamaha survivor. And in the championship, he is second for Iwata's house, since Casa Particular in Viñales is now behind him. The rookie rankings have become too small a playing field for him.

We note the top 10 of a zarco which therefore achieves its objective. He continues to collect points with a KTM that Pol Espargaro this time placed in seventh place. Guintoli had the wisdom to finish to take the points for a thirteenth place which closes the ranking. In two weeks it will be Assen. And Marc Márquez will appear there with 37 points ahead of Dovizioso...
