Jorge Lorenzo had an excellent start in this Catalan Grand Prix. No doubt it was too good for the man who, a year ago, had worked miracles on the Ducati. In the leading group, he wanted to do even better before the end of the first lap. But sometimes the best is the enemy of the good...
Jorge Lorenzo fell and he didn't do things by halves. By missing turn 10 before completing the first lap, he lost control of a Honda which, in distress, went to hook the rear of the Ducati of Dovizioso struggling for leadership with Marquez, before hitting the Yamaha of Vinnales. Red arriving on the field of ruin could do nothing to avoid this Honda transformed into a projectile.
Dovizioso, Vinales et Red, that's what you call a nice strike. Returning head down towards his box, the one who completely justified his registration of “ Bad Boy » on the headset commented: “ I got off to a good start by recovering several positions. I saw that I could ride very hard and put Viñales behind me. I passed him, but the corner was very long and to avoid hitting Dovi, I had to brake a little harder. At that point, I lost the front.
