Johann Zarco made his comeback to the front of the field at the Catalan GP, but was unable to capitalize on it due to a crash.
Johann zarco was unable to conclude the Catalan Grand Prix with the positive momentum he had been in since the beginning. Still in the game, the Frenchman had managed to regain his feelings and had finished yesterday's sprint race in seventh place, which gives us hope for good things for today's main race.
He again made a good start, maintaining his position, and then gained a place on lap five by overtaking Luca Marini. He then engaged in a great battle with Fabio Quartararo, which he emerged victorious from. While he was moving into the top five and beginning his comeback on Pedro Acosta, he crashed on lap 5.
A frustrating result, but also good feelings found and which remain in the eyes of Johann zarco the essentials in view of Misano next weekend, as he explained to the microphone of Canal + when debriefing his race:
“I’m frustrated, but much less so than in Hungary. You have to focus on the fact that you made a good comeback and were good in the race. I was even better than yesterday, and I didn’t expect to be as good. As I said, we’ve had a new swingarm since this morning. In the warm-up, it was hard to assess in ten minutes, but I wanted to keep it and adjust the bike a little to give myself a better chance of using the advantage it can give, and it clearly paid off immediately. It was a real pleasure to have control over the bike. I was also controlling my rear tire to try not to burn it out, knowing that we had to do the 24 laps.”

"It was cool to stay with Fabio and also feel a bit faster, to try to overtake him, get closer to him and finally pass him. There was almost a fourth place to play for because I knew Acosta had the soft tire and that he would certainly lose time, but I was in no hurry. I tried to stay calm to ride as well as possible, unfortunately I crashed."
"When you look at this crash, everything is almost the same and it really pisses me off. That's what I'm stressing to the technicians. When the sensations aren't very good and I say I can't get a good feel for the bike, I'm not wrong. There's not much: I either crash or I don't. And I can't ride like that because it limits me too much. We're still stuck on the fact that we've recovered well and were pretty good today, but unfortunately we won't take the points from Sunday."

"We're going to do some tests tomorrow, then we'll have to see the parts strategy and the work that Honda wants to do and has planned. I'm not trying to find out too much because it's actually a headache. I can't insist and people will say that I don't have much say in the matter."
"It was good to feel good and, I repeat, compared to yesterday there was real control. Yesterday I pushed hard all race and seventh place was pretty good, but this time I was able to control it. It was nice, it's just a shame to have crashed. At Misano the track is completely different, it will be another good exercise to be able to try to be good and continue to move forward. There I had almost the same sensations as at Silverstone and it was good to find that again."
