The races were obviously very frustrating.Enea Bastianini in Hungary, but after recently finding the key to the operation of the KTM RC16, he is now placing all his hopes on the Barcelona circuit to collect big points in the Sprint and/or the Grand Prix  MotoGP of Catalonia.

A new round of the World Championship is on the horizon, as the Red Bull KTM Tech3 Team heads to Spain for round 15, on home soil for many riders. Barcelona will also mark the start of the final two consecutive weekends in Europe, and will be followed by the San Marino Grand Prix, before the championship heads to Asia for the highly anticipated end-of-season overseas tour.

In great shape, Enea Bastianini will look to build on the notable progress seen since the Czech Republic, which earned him the Sprint podium, with the hope of transforming his recent progress into concrete points in the Iberian Peninsula.

Enea Bastianini showed good pace throughout the weekend in Hungary: another direct qualification for Q2 on Friday and a best qualifying result this season, with a 4th place, suggested good things to come at Balaton Park. Things did not go as planned, both in the Sprint and the race, with crashes in the early laps, including the last scary one, and no points scored at the end of an otherwise solid weekend.

The Tech3 rider will therefore be hungry for revenge in Catalonia, and the confidence gained in the last rounds will certainly allow him to fight among the best on his KTM, alongside Maverick Vinales, back on track to reassess his physical condition after two more weeks away from the circuits, dedicated to healing his shoulder injury.

Currently 15th in the championship just behind his unlucky Spanish teammate, the Rimini native still has 8 rounds to reach the top 10 of the general classification, a goal that is largely achievable given his recent performances which are just waiting to be realized again.

Enea Bastianini : “I’m really looking forward to the race weekend in Barcelona, as we left Hungary with an even stronger desire to achieve better results after our two crashes on the first lap of the sprint race and the main race. Balaton was still very positive in terms of performance, our pace was competitive and we achieved our best qualifying result of the season. So we’re looking forward to arriving in Catalonia and seeing what we’ll be able to do on this circuit with our bike. It’s an interesting layout, with a lot of flow, difficult braking points, but also many acceleration zones. I’m confident we can continue to improve on the last rounds, which were all very positive for us.”

Nicolas Goyon, Team Manager: “We are approaching the last consecutive rounds in Europe before the overseas races, and we start with the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona. It is a very well-known circuit for all the MotoGP riders, so it is usually a very competitive race weekend. It is known for its very low grip, but Enea Bastianini is very good at managing his tires in these conditions, which can be an advantage for him. He left Hungary frustrated, without any points, after achieving his best grid position in 2025, but a huge step forward has been made in the last three rounds, and we are now convinced that Enea has the potential to put his bike at the front more consistently. Nevertheless, the Catalan circuit is different from the last few circuits, so it will be interesting for the Italian to understand his level on this type of layout.”
