Chicho Lorenzo can boast of having revealed to the world of Grand Prix a prodigy son whose first name is Jorge. In 2020, he was also associated with the world title of the young Joan Mir who, as a child, wore out his leather in his school. A Majorcan pride which, however, has not translated into regional solidarity. The World Champion with Suzuki has in fact distanced himself from the thesis put forward by Chicho who claimed to owe him a lot. He responds to Joan Mir, with a certain tact, but also by pressing where it hurts…

boy lorenzo, in one of his columns, recalled that he had the legitimacy to benefit from a piece of the young glory of a Joan mir now World Champion, by the fact that he passed through his hands at his school as a child. An approach that the Mallorcan, like the Lorenzo, wanted to re-evaluate, by watering down the impact that this episode had had on his career.

A little disowned, boy lorenzo left time for reflection to change the situation. But one Lorenzo always responds. The time has come to do so since Chicho has put the subject back on the table.

He begins his remarks by showing the greatest diplomacy: “ we have a good relationship, even if those around him tried to ruin it by saying: look what Lorenzo's father says about you. I am sure that when we see each other, we will resume the same relationship. What I recognize is that I brought Mallorca closer to motorcycling, that's the only aspect I can take credit for. Joan Mir has come this far thanks to her immense talent. I can't say anything about it ».

Chicho Lorenzo has doubts about Joan Mir

End of the story ? That's not knowing the guy well. After falling asleep, he delivers the blow… “ Is Mir the new star or is he a champion of circumstance? ”, he wonders on the pilot MotoGP. « I wish he was a great champion, but I have doubts ».

« This year has been chaotic, with many winners. Three drivers have won more races than Joan Mir, but it wasn't enough for them to take the title. Joan's biggest problem is that he got no pole position, no front row on the grid and he only touched the second row four times ". Chicho Lorenzo leaves nothing to chance.
