Paolo Ciabatti steps up to defend Ducati's reputation. A necessity since Andrea Dovizioso let himself go into confidence about his eight seasons spent in the red house where the atmosphere was visibly stormy. To listen to the three-time world vice-champion, to come up against the master of the place Gigi Dall'Igna was to run the risk of being ostracized. But if we remember the comments already made by Casey Stoner on his own experience, we wonder if the evil is not deeper at Ducati. The brand's sports director therefore intervenes to deliver another impression...

Human relations are not the company's strong point Ducati according to some of its former pilots. Casey Stoner had already touched on the subject and, recently, Andrea Dovizioso did not go there with tweezers to recount his experience of eight seasons. As no drivers' title has been won by the manufacturer since 2007, we end up wondering if, in fact, there is not an atmosphere problem in the red house.

Paolo ciabatti is the sports director and is therefore authorized to respond on the subject. In an interview with Motosan.es, he therefore defends his employer: “ Ducati has a long history in racing and we have always treated all riders with respect » says the Italian at the start. “ We gave them the necessary equipment, both technically and humanly, to try to achieve the common objectives. ».

« Sometimes the riders and the factory don't see things the same way or they simply enter into a partnership, which is often traumatic. Of course you can always do better, self-criticism is also important, but often from the outside you don't have all the information to make evaluations » adds Ciabatti.

Ciabatti on Dovizioso: “It’s better to remember the good times”

Public chat Dovizioso and his confidences, Paolo Ciabatti does not want to add more and wants appeasement: “ we have achieved very good results in eight seasons together, mainly three vice-championships and unforgettable victories. The bike has grown a lot, together we have done a fantastic job. But like all stories, it has a beginning and an end. It was important for us to wait a few races to understand together if it was worth continuing and ultimately we realized that there were no conditions to continue ».

He finishes : " like all goodbyes it's not easy, but it is better to remember the good times we had together. Andrea has been the longest serving driver with us, we wish him the best for his future ».

Ciabatti only wants to keep the good memories with Dovizioso
