Almost a year has passed since the tragic death of Nicky Hayden, 35, who was hit by a car on May 17 near the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano during cycling training.

In Italy, a garden will be created at the site of the tragedy (See here) while the Circuit of the Americas today commemorates the late American champion by renaming Hayden Hill curve 18. On the hill next to the track, a huge number 69 of Hayden was pulverized this week.

Furthermore, the Ducati number 69 of the Kentucky Kid is on display in the paddock of the Texan circuit, a moving tribute to remember the deceased champion also evoked with tears by Randy Mamola this afternoon, during his induction into MotoGP Legend status.
