At Ducati, we pull out all the stops when it comes to competition. Including at the presentation stage. For MotoGP, the party was great and for WSBK, we had no discounts with, in particular, the presence of the brand boss Claudio Domenicali. The latter took the opportunity to recall the ambition of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer: To triumph in both Superbike and Grand Prix.

At Ducati, we have been hoping for titles for several years now. However, it is not for lack of putting in the means, but the situation dictates that, both in WSBK and in MotoGP, it is a rider who dominates his subject. And neither of them has a Ducati. It is Jonathan Rhea with a Kawasaki in Superbike and Marc Márquez on Honda in Grand Prix.

Since 2007 and Casey Stoner, no rider with a red bike has dominated a season in MotoGP while in WSBK, the drought has lasted since 2011 and Carlos Checa. But 2020 must be the start of a glorious decade… “ The two championships? It's possible " says Claudio Domenicali : " we haven't won the SBK World Championship in too long. The means we have put in place this year deserve to be rewarded. Last year we won in many races, now we must return to the place that Ducati deserves. »

The road map is thus drawn for Scott Redding et Chaz Davies. The discussion then shifted to MotoGP: “ we have done very well over the last three years, but in this case too we think we have the means to aim for the title. We are in the Márquez era, it's true, the domination he has inflicted on his rivals in the last three championships is certainly big, heavy, and that was especially the case in 2019. But I think our technicians and our drivers worked hard to fight at the top. There will be a lot of fun, it will be two interesting world championships. »

He ends with a word on the pilot market, which has been seriously reduced since Yamaha locked his sector: “ For now we are focusing on this season. I asked Ciabatti to take a position on the fact that it is not certain that we will change both drivers. We have the three-time world vice-champion, Petrucci has trained a lot… We have excellent riders at Pramac and in Superbike, we could even change 0% of our riders. When the time comes, we will communicate our decisions. »
