Manufacturers are not the only ones wanting to land a good rider for each new MotoGP season. This may seem like a detail, but when we know what the media impact can be for a manufacturer following a victory or a podium at such a level of competition, the equipment manufacturers are also on the alert. The logo on the shoulders of Frenchman Johann Zarco has just changed, returning to Furygan after a 2-year stint with Alpinestars.

Johann Zarco was loyal for 9 years to Furygan, the French equipment brand based in Nîmes, which saw him crowned Moto2 World Champion twice. Yes, but when moving from the Tech3 satellite team to the official KTM team in 2019, the Cannes rider brought other elements in his suitcase. Zarco had been riding for Furygan for so many years that we ended up not really paying attention to the logo on his suit. And for 2 years, the Italian star of Alpinestars gave way to the panther of Furygan.

It was this Friday January 15 that Johann announced a return to his roots on his Instagram account, after having signed again with Furygan, and had his measurements taken for his future suits. We can easily imagine that the gloves will also come from the panther brand. As for the boots, it is unlikely that the Italian equipment manufacturer will continue to put them on, it remains a mystery for the moment. As for the helmet, nothing changes, Zarco still wears the Shark Race-R Pro GP, adorned with its Chakra-Spirit decoration.

We can only hope, as Johann points out in his publication, that he can “write beautiful pages of French motorcycling” with his new colors!
