Pedrosa is one of the unluckiest riders when it comes to crashes, and he frequently gets injured when he falls. At 32, he has already had to undergo 32 operations, which is a lot at such a young age.

Dani Pedrosa crashed on the first lap of the Argentine Grand Prix. He was then rushed to Europe to have his right wrist examined where a distal radius fracture was detected.

Pedrosa had the operation at the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona. The operation went well according to the Doctor Mir (Head of the Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Unit, Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery Department), who performed the procedure.

“Dani suffered from a distal fracture of the right radius, which affected his joint, Dr Mir detailed to Motpgp.com. We therefore reduced the fracture and fixed it using a cannulated titanium compression screw.

“The operation went well and we are quite optimistic that he will recover quickly,” declared the surgeon, without however giving a precise date. “We are always surprised to see how quickly the drivers recover, but the idea would be to see him return for Jerez, » knowing that the Austin race takes place in just 10 days.

Dani's presence in Austin is very uncertain because as Dr Mir clarified, “It is not possible to say exactly how long it will take before returning to competition. His wrist was still inflamed, and we will have to see how the situation develops over the next 72 hours. »

In the event of Pedrosa's withdrawal from Austin, Honda could call on Stefan bradl to supplement it.
