Davide Brivio

Davide Brivio, recently returned to his first love in motorcycle Grand Prix with the TrackHouse Aprilia team after a foray into Formula 1, shares his thoughts on the future of MotoGP and the importance of innovating to remain competitive in the global sporting landscape . In this sense, it joins the Dorna expertise of a MotoGP which must adapt to an economic and social environment with particular requirements, under penalty of condemning itself to fatal marginality.

In an interview with GP One, Davide Brivio discusses the importance for MotoGP to learn lessons from various sports, while avoiding the trap of simple imitation. “ It is crucial to always seek to improve" , highlighted Brivio. “ Taking inspiration from Formula 1 is a good thing, but you shouldn't just copy. You have to look for innovative ideas by observing football, tennis, golf... In today's world, sport is intrinsically linked to business. We love to discuss drivers and their performance, but we have to accept that this all has to be economically viable. This requires sponsor commitment, public and media interest."

Davide Brivio: “ you have to go out and meet the fans, not passively wait for them to come »

Brivio then discusses the importance of getting closer to the public to ensure the sustainability of the MotoGP : " you have to go out and meet the fans, not passively wait for them to come. We could organize areas dedicated to fans, encourage wider opening. We must keep in mind that our audience is varied, ranging from enthusiasts to complete neophytes.. Offering diverse entertainment is essential to enrich the spectator experience."

He also emphasizes that the spectacle on the track is no longer enough: “ each sport has its specificities, but all must seek to captivate their audience even outside of sporting events themselves. Whether it's football, basketball, Formula 1 or MotoGP, sport becomes a pretext to bring people together. Once reunited, it’s about giving them a memorable experience. This requires creativity and innovation. MotoGP is already on this path” he concluded.
