Team Suzuki will be considered as the itch of the 2019 MotoGP season which is on the horizon. A disappointing 2017, due to an error in the technical choice, was followed by a solid performance in 2018. So much so that we now consider the GSX-RR as a solid rival to the Yamaha M1. The first tests of the year will be launched at the beginning of February at Sepang. A meeting which will mark the start of the Grand Prix. There we will see the latest weapons sharpened by manufacturers during the winter break. But Davide Brivio, team manager of a structure which will house Rins and Mir, already warns: there will be no new motorcycle for him…

Suzuki saw its bike reach nine podiums in 2018. Which is still not so bad. Five for Kidneys and four for Iannone, who has since left for Aprilia. Joan mir, the young hopeful Moto3 World Champion in 2017 and author of a single season in Moto2 last year, will replace the Italian.

On InSella.it, Davide Brivio specifies what awaits us with the GSX-RR: “ in 2019 we will not have a new motorcycle. But we will work to improve the engine and chassis of the existing GSX-RR. So far we have tried a new version of the engine, designed to give us more power and more speed, and we need to understand how this will affect the balance of the bike ».

The Italian then added: “ A lot of attention has also been placed on the chassis, but we still need to understand what advantages and disadvantages this brings us. So we have some options for the engine, some for the chassis and some for various elements of the bike. We will now have to put everything in place and aim to obtain the best version of the bike for this 2019 ". A job that is also the test pilot Sylvain Guintoli.
