Apparently, the Finnish Grand Prix is facing another problem after the postponement and cancellation. The KymiRing was due to make its appearance on the MotoGP calendar last year, but the event was postponed before being canceled indefinitely.

The cancellation was partly due to the bankruptcy of the two companies that helped build the circuit. Dorna is suing KymiRing Events, the circuit's subsidiary, to try to recoup its investment in the circuit. The two companies that were to build the circuit filed for bankruptcy. These companies, in turn, claim they have not been paid. Sources like Web Bike World also said the list of creditors seeking to recover their funds from the circuit is growing.

Dorna is said to have sued KymiRing Events for a sum of 6,4 million euros, a figure linked to the promotion agreement signed in July 2021. Dorna is said to have received nothing from KymiRing.

It seems that the organization of a Grand Prix in Finland will not have a happy ending because it has not even started. The KymiRing was set to host the first Finnish GP in forty years, with the last such event taking place in 1982. Holding another event of this scale now seems like a distant reality given how the events took place with the KymiRing.

However, in the short term, two new Grand Prix should be added to the calendar: one in India and one in Kazakhstan.
