The two days of testing on the circuit Misano ended this Thursday, with the protagonists Andrea Dovizioso and l'Aprilia RS-GP. Andrea was finally able to test the RS-GP in ideal conditions since the last test at Mugello had been disrupted by rain. 78 laps yesterday and 48 today are testament to Andrea's hard work on the track, supported by the Aprilia Racing test team. Dovizioso ran laps at decidedly fast times, making marked improvement from one day to the next, although, as always in these cases, the stopwatch is not the most important benchmark.
Aerodynamics, electronics and general dynamics of the bike, with different chassis solutions tested over the two days, were the areas explored, also in view of the RS-GP developments for the second half of this season and to define the bike for the next season MotoGP.
« It was a very interesting test " commented Dovizioso. " Testing on a third, different circuit was extremely important to better understand the bike and see what points need to be developed. We tested and changed a lot of things in order to better understand many details that, in fact, we collected more precisely, identifying how to improve and where, on the other hand, we lose something with certain changes. With the next scheduled tests, we will be able to make more comparisons and better discuss our ideas ».
Aprilia working on 2022 riders without waiting for Dovizioso
Massimo rivola added: “ it was two very positive days. We are satisfied with these tests which gave us important indications and demonstrated the progress of the bike which has already been seen in racing. This is work that we will continue as planned in July. Andrea has proven himself to be an excellent rider in terms of sensitivity and understanding of the bike's behavior ».
