The end of year celebrations have gotten darker for the Ducati team which has just lost its team coordinator.

It is in a very sad way that the weekend began for Ducati who announced the death of Silvio Sangalli, its coordinator, at the age of 54.

Just a few weeks ago, the team was reunited in Jerez for the last official test of 2018 and said goodbye to meet again next February in Sepang. Unfortunately, one person will be missing because life has decided otherwise. Silvio Sangalli died of a heart attack on Friday, leaving the team in shock: “Goodbye Silvio. You left really too soon... The whole team will always remember your smile and your availability. All our thoughts are with your family and friends. We will miss you very much…”

Other personalities from the paddock began to react this weekend, like Jorge Lorenzo, who paid tribute to him on his social networks: “Yesterday Silvio Sangalli left us... He was a member of Ducati and a great friend to everyone who knew him. Life is sometimes unfair to those who least deserve to leave. We will always remember you for your big heart, your positivity and your availability. RIP my friend. »

Andrea Iannone also wrote a few words to him: “Goodbye Silvio. I shared my best years with you! Rest in peace. »

The most moving message nevertheless remains that ofOscar Haro, the sporting director of LCR Honda: “Goodbye my dear friend… I have no words to define this “companion/friend/brother”… You left much too soon but a heart attack decided that your place was elsewhere. You nevertheless leave your mark with something that few people know how to do or have, this huge smile that always lit up your face and this crazy desire to always help others. Goodbye Silvio and thank you for your love and passion for our sport!! »
