This seems certain: from next season, Pramac Racing will become Yamaha's satellite team in MotoGP. At the same time, the VR46 team will have two official Ducatis at their disposal. The official announcement of the agreement between Pramac and Yamaha for 2025 is imminent, although negotiations have been concluded for several months. The Tuscan team's suppliers are already working on the details needed to handle the new hardware.

Yamaha managed to convince Paolo Campinoti not to renew with Ducati and to bet on this new project, offering two official YZR-M1s and the same updates as the motorcycles of Quarterly et Kidneys. Lin Jarvis, before his planned departure at the end of the season, managed to offer a satellite team to the Japanese giant. This news also pleases Dorna et Liberty Medium, because it rebalances the MotoGP grid and allows the Japanese to hope in their project. In the long term, the objective is also to diversify the representation of drivers, currently dominated by Italians and Spaniards.

From 2005, Pramac and Ducati have formed a strong alliance. Under the direction of Paolo Campinoti, the team played a key role in the paddock, becoming a true extension of Borgo Panigale. Many drivers who then joined the factory box Ducati have proven themselves at Pramac: Danilo Petrucci, Andrea Iannone, Francesco Bagnaia, and Jack Miller. George Martin, however, failed to make this jump, contributing to Pramac's decision to change partners.

The VR46 Academy cycle is closed! Bravo Vale (and also Uccio and the others), all that remains is to copy…

By recruiting Marc Marquez, Ducati broke its codes and disappointed a friend of 20 years

For Yamaha , this is a major strategic move. Pramac will benefit from significant discounts on motorcycle rentals, rider support, certain sponsors, and official treatment. Industrial opportunities are also emerging, since Pramac is a major player in the production and sale of generator sets. A partnership with Yamaha could promote significant growth of the company, beyond what Ducati could offer.

The challenge for Pramac will be to see if the YZR-M1, which until now has not matched the velocity of the Ducati Desmosedici, can quickly close this gap thanks to the concessions enjoyed Yamaha . At any rate, Pramac took a bold gamble.

With the departure of Pramac, Ducati must now decide how to distribute the two official motorcycles between Gresini Racing team et Team VR46. According to the first rumors relayed by Motoracing, the two Desmosedici GP25s could be attributed to VR46Where Franco Morbidelli et Fermin Aldeguer could find a new home.

Thus, the MotoGP landscape for 2025 is taking shape with significant changes, promising a season full of twists and turns and new dynamics.
