Since the incident at the end of the race in Catalonia with championship leader Quartararo, attention has focused a little more on Grand Prix combinations. Who wears what in MotoGP? And do those who have the same brand as the Frenchman have reason to worry? Probably not, even if with more in-depth expertise on past events than a press release mentioning that on first thought, everything was normal, everyone would be more convinced. While waiting for the light to emerge from the Alpinestars laboratories, here are the six equipment manufacturers who equip MotoGP riders for their safety.

In the flagship Grand Prix category, 22 pilots trust six manufacturers of leather suits and with airgbags in 2021. They were listed by speedweek. We notice Alpinestars, with eight pilots, Dainese, with seven clients and Ixon with four faithful. These brands hold the majority of the market. Next to them there is Furygan, Live again! et Bering.

Among these names, some have not developed their airbag system, mandatory for all drivers for all categories in Grand Prix. They therefore buy them from the competition.

MotoGP: six brands of combination for 22 riders

Now who wears what? Alpinestars is considered the market leader in MotoGP. This brand equips eight riders with Marc Márquez, Alex Márquez, Alex Rins, Fabio Quartararo, Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin, Maverick Viñales and KTM test rider Dani Pedosa.

Founded by Lino Dainese in the 1970s, Dainese is headlined by Valentino Rossi. Dainese equips the nine-time world champion for an annual amount of around 1,7 million euros. Other Dainese partners are Stefan Bradl, Joan Mir, Franco Morbidelli, Luca Marini, Pol Espargaró and Jack Miller.

Johann zarco trusts French leather Furygan, Danilo Petrucci bets on the brand Live again! Iker Lecuona is the only MotoGP rider to have chosen Bering. The French leather brand IXON extension is also well involved with Brad Binder, Miguel Oliveira, Nakagami and Aleix Espargró.

Finally, we will recall that if Fabio Quartararo was penalized in Catalonia, it is because he was unable to provide complete equipment on arrival as the regulations specify, since he had gotten rid of internal protection , due to an untimely opening of his Alpinestars suit. The reasons for which must therefore be clarified.
